Hugues holds a bachelor’s degree in education from UQAM and a master’s degree in administration (MBA) from HEC Montreal. He also holds the title of financial planner from the IQPF.

He worked mainly in the corporate world, becoming a shareholder and manager of a company. He subsequently sold the company and redirected his career to the financial industry. Hugues joined Giverny Capital in May 2021.
