Hugues holds a Bachelor of Education from UQAM and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from HEC Montréal. He holds the Financial Planner (F.Pl.) designation, awarded by the Institute of Financial Planning (formerly IQPF).

Hugues has many years of business experience, both as an entrepreneur and as a professional. He subsequently redirected his career toward the financial sector.

He joined Giverny Capital in May 2021 as a financial planner.
